ACTEP will launch its programs in Ghana as a pilot country, focusing on:
1. Raising Revenue from the Informal Sector:
- Educating and incentivizing informal sector actors to contribute to tax revenue.
- Highlighting the importance of taxes through documentaries showcasing past and future uses of tax revenue.
2. First Quarter Program:
- National Tax Dialogue (NTD):
- Hosting discussions on which taxes should be introduced, canceled, or reduced.
- Organizing dialogues in Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale.
- Producing a policy document to advise the Government of Ghana based on the outcomes of these dialogues.
3. Follow-Up Programs:
- National Tax Quiz (NTQ): Promoting tax awareness among students.
- National Tax Awards (NTA): Recognizing voluntary tax compliance.
- National Tax Pageant (Mr. and Miss Tax Ghana): Selecting ambassadors to promote tax education and motivation.
- Capacity Building Trainings: Supporting local assemblies and SMEs in revenue mobilization and tax literacy.
